The University of Canberra is seeking an experienced professional to join the Office of the General Counsel and University Secretary. As part of a highly productive team, the Deputy Secretary to Council, supports and assists in the provision of services to the University’s governing body, Council and with the coordination of governance of the University Group. 

Reporting to the General Counsel and University Secretary, you will manage a small Secretariat team to ensure the effective and efficient provision of administrative and secretarial services to Council and Academic Board and their Committees. Additionally, you will review and maintain the governance, delegations and policy frameworks for the University; provide advice to the University and its government bodies and committees; supervise the administration of University elections, as well as maintaining appropriate registers. Your influential contribution to the delivery of professional services are crucial to your success in this role. 

To be considered for this position, you will possess a skill level that assumes knowledge or training equivalent to graduate qualifications, or extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
