The Marketing team at the University of Canberra is dedicated to developing and managing the University's brand and reputation. Within Marketing, the Web Team are the stewards of the University’s website and mobile apps, providing digital communication channel solutions for business units across the University. We are currently recruiting for a Web Service Manager to join us. UC is undergoing an exciting time of change and embarking on an educational transformational and growth (ETaG) program with a goal to enhance student learning, and increase enrolments through the development of new capabilities —a strong focus of this position.

About the role:

As a Web Service Manager, you will be a creative problem solver with a specialist skillset in digital user experience and/or digital technology focus ensuring a customer-centred design while delivering on the client’s brief. Being a “hands on” managerial role, you will require a balance of your strong technical expertise as well as your stakeholder relations and project management skills to elevate our web services and bring projects to life.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • planning and executing digital content and customer experience strategies
  • advising and collaborating with internal clients to ensure web content quality and digital user experience conforms to web best practices
  • upholding and improving the quality of UC’s digital presence through user-centred design, search optimisation, WCAG compliance, and web best practices,
  • managing university web and digital projects utilising the University's CMS and marketing tools (Adobe Experience Manager, Squiz Matrix, Funnelback, Marketo, Adobe AdCloud) to create user-centred digital experiences
  • applying advanced skills in HTML, CSS, and Adobe Creative Suiteto prototype and create engaging digital user experiences
  • building and maintaining effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • providing leadership and direction within the Web Team.

About you:

The successful applicant will have:

  • prior experience managing small to large web-based projects in a large enterprise environment
  • ability to deliver innovative, effective digital customer experiences
  • creative problem-solving skills
  • exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • ability to communicate complex technical strategies to non-technical audiences and translate your “big picture” ideas to reality
  • strong project and time management and organisation techniques
  • collaborative and inclusive team approach
  • experience with building websites and publishing content in CMSs such as AEM, Squiz Matrix, Drupal, Umbraco or Sitecore
  • strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS to create web-based solutions that aligns to our UX/UI principles and ensures WCAG compliance.
