About the opportunity:

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Governance Specialist to lead the next phase of our enterprise data governance framework rollout. This is a unique opportunity to coordinate a high-impact project that strengthens data maturity and governance across the University.

In this role, you’ll act as the central coordinator - maintaining momentum, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring delivery stays on track. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and deployment of data governance frameworks and guidelines
  • Manage and maintain UC’s data governance practices throughout the rollout phase
  • Identify and support key business stakeholders and roles in relation to the University’s Data Governance Framework
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish business processes for assessing, monitoring, and improving key data assets
  • Undertake proactive and effective quality assurance and control across the implemented framework
  • Provide oversight of data and data asset management processes
  • Support Data Owners, Stewards, and other stakeholders in developing and implementing data sharing and access frameworks across the University
  • Build, maintain, and leverage strong stakeholder relationships to positively influence project outcomes
  • Promote data literacy by ensuring staff across the University are trained, informed, and empowered with good data governance principles and practices

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and inclusively with diverse internal and external stakeholders across all levels
  • Proven capability to manage timelines, resources, and communications to ensure smooth execution and readiness for the rollout of the data governance framework
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and align data governance initiatives with broader institutional goals
  • Skilled in identifying challenges early and implementing practical solutions to maintain project momentum
  • Willingness to adapt, learn, and refine processes to support long-term success of data governance practices

Offerings/ Benefits/ Culture:

The University offers excellent conditions and benefits such as:

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Family-friendly policies
  • On campus Gym, Medical services, Cafes, Post office, Supermarket and Childcare facilities.
  • Professional Development offerings (study assistance, corporate programs and discounts)
  • Innovative work environment with a diverse and inclusive culture
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program and a corporate private Health Plan (Bupa)
