About the Opportunity:

The University of Canberra is seeking a Compliance and Assurance Manager to join its General Counsel Team. Reporting to the Director of Risk & Audit, you will be pivotal in engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders, navigating uncertainties, establishing a Compliance framework from the ground up, and contributing to shaping the future direction of the organisation.

Operating with a degree of autonomy, you will have the freedom to drive initiatives forward and make a tangible impact.

Key responsibilities include –

  • The review, development and implementation of the University’s compliance and risk related policy and procedure suite.
  • Identifying broad institutional legislative obligations, and providing advice around policies and processes,
  • Supporting the Audit & Risk Management Committee compliance activities.
  • Leading the development, use and maintenance of the University Governance, Risk & Compliance software.
  • Conducting independent assurance and compliance audits.
  • Establishing a central process for reporting.
  • Preparing executive level reports.
