About the opportunity:

We are seeking an education-focused academic to join our Public Health teaching team on a 0.8 FTE, fixed-term (3-year) appointment.

This role will contribute to high-quality teaching, curriculum development and student support within the Master of Public Health programs, with a particular focus on foundational and advanced epidemiology. You will deliver and convene epidemiology units, support students in quantitative epidemiological methods, and contribute to the academic mission of the Discipline of Public Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, convene and deliver high-quality public health and epidemiology units
  • Teach and support students in quantitative epidemiological methods
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of MPH programs
  • Engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning and student wellbeing activities
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary academic teams

About You:

You will hold a PhD in Epidemiology or Public Health and bring strong expertise in epidemiological methods, study design and quantitative analysis. You will have demonstrated quality teaching experience at the tertiary level, including online and blended delivery, and experience contributing to public health curriculum development.

Desirable:

  • Competency in statistical software (e.g. R, Stata, SAS, SPSS)
  • Experience supervising research students
  • Familiarity with contemporary public health challenges and applied epidemiology
