About the role:

Working within the People and Culture portfolio, the Manager, People Services is a trusted expert on all things people-related, leading a dedicated HR team to deliver high-quality services that evolve with our clients needs. Being a key advisor to the business and within People & Culture, the Manager, people services is pivotal in shaping a positive employee experience and creating an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing workplace.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Overseeing HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team, managing employment contracts, credentials, and performance strategies.
  • Building strong relationships across the University, fostering a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Driving employee engagement initiatives to support staff throughout their UC journey.
  • Championing workplace health and safety and wellbeing, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting preventative strategies.
  • Managing, monitor and report workplace rehabilitation programs, supporting employees through illness or injury and facilitating a sustainable return to work.
  • Providing expert advice and coaching to managers on complex people matters.

 

About you:

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Human Resources or WHS
  • Completed a Rehabilitation & Case Management ACT Training (or willing to obtain)
  • Experience in HR operations, employee relations and rehabilitation programs would be highly regarded
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • A good understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships across the University
  • Experience in HRIS management and process optimisation. (PageUp would be highly regarded)
