About the role:
We are currently seeking for a Security and Parking Manager to join the team which will be responsible for managing the delivery of Security and Traffic services. Reporting to the Deputy Director and operating with a high level of autonomy, this role requires adapting established policies, practices, and expertise to address the evolving activities and environments of the University.
Key responsibilities:
The main duties of this role will include but not limited to:
Security and Traffic Management: Oversee the provision of security and traffic services, including parking, to ensure safety for staff, students, and visitors.
Incident Leadership: Lead critical incident management activities as part of the University Critical Incident Response Team.
Policy and Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for security and traffic services, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and managing non-compliance.
Technology and Analytics: Manage and maintain security technologies (e.g., surveillance, access control) and use data to optimize operations.
Budget and Contracts: Prepare and manage budgets; negotiate contracts with external providers for cost-effective security and traffic services.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding incidents, trends, intelligence, and preventative measures.
Event Safety and Reporting: Collaborate with event organizers and contractors to ensure safe events and provide regular security and risk reports.
Staff Management: Responsible for management and development of internal team and management or contractors.
Data Analysis : Using data and analytics to improve security and parking operations.
Budget Management : Preparing and managing budgets for security and parking units.
Property Compliance Management : Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
Qualification in Security management and a security licence (will be well regarded)
Experience in managing security services, including surveillance systems and access control and knowledge of traffic and parking operations
Ability to develop and implement security and traffic policies.
Leadership skills to effectively manage a team, addressing challenging issues and driving performance.
Strong attention to detail ensuring property compliance with security policies and procedures are adhered to.
Effective communication skills and strong stakeholder management experience with and problem solving and negotiating abilities.
