About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated Research Ethics and Integrity Officer to join our team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. This role will support the Research Ethics and Integrity team in addressing Independent External Review recommendations. Additionally, assist with planned changes and system improvements to streamline the ethics application process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the University in meeting its statutory obligations related to research and other legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with ‘Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (8th edition)’ and state and territory legislation relating to animal research and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.
  • Report to the Associate Director and help devise and implement improvements to support future compliance.
  • Work closely with University researchers and research support staff.

About you:

  • Working knowledge of the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (8th edition).
  • Experience in developing policy, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
