About the opportunity:
Are you passionate about shaping education and research while championing Indigenous perspectives? We are seeking a dedicated academic leader who values cultural knowledge, community engagement, and transformative learning experiences.
The Faculty of Education is committed to the integration of Indigenous knowledges into our curriculum. We use the notion of Country as Teacher as a placed based pedagogical approach that welcomes Indigenous and non-Indigenous students to relate with and learn on and from country.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead teaching, course development, and research with a commitment to Indigenous knowledge systems and perspectives
Make an outstanding contribution to educational research, teaching, or professional practice at a national or international level
Deliver high-quality teaching and student support, including mentorship for Indigenous students
Supervise Higher Degree Research (HDR) students, supporting emerging Indigenous scholars
Secure major external research grants and publish in leading academic journals, including Indigenous-led research initiatives
Foster industry partnerships and stakeholder engagement, collaborating with Indigenous communities and organizations
Lead discipline areas and academic teams, embedding cultural respect and Indigenous methodologies in faculty initiatives
Contribute actively to faculty activities, events, and administration, including engagement with Indigenous knowledge holders
Requirements:
Master’s degree (required)
PhD (preferred)
Extensive professional experience in a relevant educational context
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous communities, organisations, and stakeholders
National or International academic reputation and standing in research or practice relevant to Indigenous Education
