About the opportunity:

Are you passionate about guiding the next generation of nurses in their professional journey? The Faculty of Health is looking for a Clinical Liaison Nurse to join our team and play a vital role in supporting Bachelor of Nursing students during their work-integrated learning and Professional Experience Placement. Click the link for more information on our Clinical Placements with Older People CPOP.

Your main focus will be to nurture effective communication and build lasting relationships within clinical settings, connecting students, industry stakeholders, and the University of Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and assess Bachelor of Nursing students during their work-integrated learning and Professional Experience Placement (PEP).
  • Develop and maintain strong communication channels between students, industry stakeholders, and the University of Canberra within clinical settings.
  • Strengthen relationships to enhance the quality of gerontological clinical placements, funded under the Commonwealth tender for Clinical Placements with Older People.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in general nursing with recent clinical practice.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Nursing and knowledge of higher education processes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including tact, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential situations.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Commitment to equity and workplace health and safety principles.
  • Knowledge of clinical placement environments; familiarity with University student administration systems is a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience with and/or qualifications in gerontological or aged care nursing and working with older adults in community, acute, or residential care settings.
