Campus Estate is responsible for shaping and managing a vibrant, safe, and sustainable campus that supports world-class teaching, research, and community engagement. As part of our bold Campus Master Plan , we are seeking an experienced and strategic property leader to take on the role of Deputy Director, Campus Development for a 12-months leave cover.
Reporting to the Director, Property, Development and Commercial, the Deputy Director, Campus Development will lead the campus development and planning teams to deliver the University's transformational capital works program. This executive leadership role is pivotal in translating the University's vision into tangible, high-quality infrastructure outcomes.
The Deputy Director will lead cross-functional and diverse teams to deliver strategic campus development initiatives, fostering a high-performance, one-team culture. The role is responsible to drive long-term planning across capital works, space strategy, and urban realm design, while providing expert advice on project feasibility, delivery frameworks, and partnerships. The role involves high-level stakeholder engagement, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and sustainability across all projects, and representing UC at industry forums to help shape its property strategy.
About You: We are looking for a senior property leader with:
Extensive experience in strategic property development and infrastructure delivery in complex environments (e.g. education, health, or government sectors).
Proven ability to lead high-performing teams through all phases of large-scale capital projects.
Strong commercial acumen and experience with feasibility assessments and stakeholder partnerships.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
A commitment to sustainable development and long-term asset planning.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Property, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
