About the role:

The Graduate Research School at UC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Services Coordinator, to join our busy team. Reporting to the Team Leader, HDR Services, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering high-quality administrative support across the HDR candidate lifecycle—from admissions and enrolment to progress, wellbeing, and completions.

Key responsibilities:

As HDR Services Coordinator, you will:

  • Collaborate with the HDR (Higher Degree by Research) Services team to provide comprehensive administrative support and contribute to team goals.
  • Ensure compliance with international student regulations, including issuing Confirmation of Enrolment and adhering to ESOS and DFAT requirements.
  • Administer HDR admissions and scholarships processes.
  • Administer candidature milestones such as enrolment, progress reports, leave, and fee adjustments.
  • Support strategies to improve Research student retention and completion rates.
  • Facilitate thesis examinations ensuring students meet graduation requirements.
  • Provide expert policy advice and resolve candidate queries, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Identify and implement business process improvements.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with candidates, supervisors, and stakeholders.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong administrative experience, university or research environment would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication with strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of international student compliance and HDR policies is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage competing priorities effectively.
