About the Opportunity:

In this role, you will provide critical learning support for students, focusing on developing their academic, research, language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. You will design and deliver programs and initiatives to:

  • Support English language development
  • Develop numeracy skills for discipline-based contexts
  • Scaffold academic literacies in individual consultations and embedded in-unit support
  • Prepare students for major assessments and learning tasks
  • Contribute to key University indicators of student transition, retention, and progress

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and deliver innovative programs, projects, and resources across various delivery modes
  • Collaborate with academic and support staff to co-design, deliver, and evaluate programs, training, and resources
  • Apply evidence-based best practices to support students from diverse backgrounds
  • Promote the team's work and ensure strong awareness of available support among staff and students
  • Develop, review, and update documentation, publications, resources, websites, and LMS sites managed by the Learning and Research Services team
  • Support the Senior Learning Support Advisors in recording, analysing, and reporting key metrics

 Requirements:

  • An undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in education or a related discipline, or
  • An undergraduate degree  and a commitment to obtaining a post-graduate degree in education
  • Experience in learning advising in secondary, adult, or higher education, with a focus on academic literacies and/or numeracy
