About the role:
The Faculty of Arts and Design is seeking an experienced Operations and Research Manager to manage the faculty resources, partnerships, research and teaching administration, and delivering key strategic projects throughout the academic year.
Reporting to the Faculty Manager and working closely with the faculty executives, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the faculty through leadership, strategic planning, and project management. The role is primarily based onsite, offering direct engagement with faculty teams and projects.
Key responsibilities:
As the Operations and Research Manager, you will:
Lead and manage Faculty Professional Teams, including Research, Operations, and Technical staff.
Drive continuous improvement in business processes
Oversee the delivery of key annual activities and events
Manage and deliver high-impact projects
Provide strategic leadership in professional education and short courses
Collaborate with University services to ensure safe, effective, and inspiring learning environments.
Develop and manage strategic partnerships, including international joint programs in alignment with the University’s Strategic Plan.
Support marketing and communications initiatives in collaboration with the University’s marketing team.

Proven leadership experience preferably in a complex academic or research environment.
Strong strategic, technical, and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and deliver large-scale initiatives.
Experience in partnership development, governance, and risk management.
A strong ability to prioritise and multitask various projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to operational challenges.
