About the role:
The Faculty of Health , UC’s largest faculty is seeking an exceptional academic leader to take on the pivotal role of Head of School, Nursing & Midwifery . This is a rare opportunity for a visionary and collaborative leader to guide one of our flagship Schools, influence the future of health education, and contribute to high‑impact research and industry engagement.
The Head of School holds a senior leadership role within the Faculty, playing a central part on the Faculty Executive and contributing significantly to the broader University. Providing strategic, academic, and operational leadership, this role shapes the School’s teaching, research, people, partnerships, and overall performance.
Key responsibilities:
This role is central to expanding the School’s teaching, research, innovation and engagement activities, ensuring it remains responsive, future‑focused and highly connected to the health sector. Other responsibilities include:
Lead, support and mentor academic staff, including workforce planning, workload allocation, and performance development.
Oversee academic program quality, innovation, and compliance with University standards.
Foster a thriving, outward‑looking research culture in collaboration with colleagues.
Drive excellence in teaching and learning, exploring new and innovative practices.
Manage School finances and resources to ensure sustainability and growth.
Strengthen industry, government and community partnerships, both nationally and internationally.
Represent the School at Faculty, University and external forums.
Identify and support new initiatives that enhance the School’s profile and contribute to Faculty and University strategy.
