About the opportunity:

The University of Canberra is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology to make a significant contribution to teaching, clinical education, and student supervision across undergraduate, honours and postgraduate psychology programs.

You will play a key role in training the next generation of psychologists, with a commitment to high-quality, innovative teaching, student learning, and clinical supervision, and will contribute to the academic standing and external engagement of the Discipline of Psychology. The role includes contributing to the University’s student-led psychology clinic, supporting both individual and group supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spend around two days per week on clinical supervision and one day per week on teaching and research supervision, with flexibility as required.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs, using a range of delivery modes.
  • Coordinate units and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Provide academic, research and pastoral support to students.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a PhD in Psychology (or equivalent), or significant relevant professional experience with demonstrated progress toward PhD completion.
  • Full registration with AHPRA as a psychologist with clinical endorsement or similar, or working towards endorsement.
  • Approval by the PsyBA to be able to provide supervision.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision for students undertaking placements, both for therapy and cognitive and learning assessments.
