About the opportunity:

We are seeking a Project Manager, HDR Indigenous Strategy to lead the development and implementation of a University-wide strategy that strengthens Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation, experience and success in Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs.

This is a hands-on project leadership role suited to someone who combines strong project management capability with cultural knowledge, sensitivity and experience working respectfully with Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the HDR Indigenous Strategy, including feasibility studies, program proposals, budget planning and identification of potential funding sources.
  • Engage meaningfully with Indigenous communities, faculties and key stakeholders to co-design initiatives that support Indigenous HDR enrolment, retention and completion.
  • Embed cultural safety and Indigenous knowledge systems within HDR programs and practices.
  • Oversee the allocation of funding to support Indigenous HDR student development and research.

About You:

You are an experienced project manager with strong stakeholder relationship skills and a demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, inclusion and respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Knowledge of the Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program lifecycle is desirable but not essential.
